Specialized Material Options for Your Application

Metalphoto of Cincinnati manufactures metal equipment labels built to survive the harshest industrial environments. Our proprietary Metalphoto® substrate is photosensitive anodized aluminum, which permanently embeds your label image within the sapphire-hard anodic layer of the aluminum itself, not on top of it. The result is an equipment label that resists the abuse that destroys ordinary labels: abrasion from handling, UV fading from outdoor exposure, harsh chemical washdowns, extreme temperatures and saltwater corrosion.

Metalphoto metal equipment labels carry an outdoor service life of over 20 years and are recognized by the National Association of Graphic and Product Identification Manufacturers (GPI) as the most durable printed aluminum substrate available.

Manufacturers, government agencies and military organizations (including Caterpillar, the US Navy, NASA, and Boeing) have relied on Metalphoto labels for over 50 years to keep critical equipment identified and traceable throughout its entire lifecycle.

Metalphoto metal labels for equipment offer:

  • Durability that outlasts the equipment: 20+ year outdoor rating with no fading, peeling or degradation.
  • Resistance to real-world industrial conditions: abrasion, UV, harsh chemicals, extreme temperatures and saltwater corrosion.
  • High-resolution imaging: supports detailed part diagrams, safety instructions, logos and microprint security features.
  • Unique asset identification on every metal equipment label: serialized barcodes, QR codes and alphanumeric combinations for full asset tracking and compliance.
